SPOA Housing Policy Series, Episode 1: The Pitfalls of Rent Control

The Small Property Owners Association (SPOA) launched its 2023 webinar series on June 8 with a discussion about the pitfalls of rent control, among other proposals that endanger businesses and communities, both in Boston and throughout Massachusetts. SPOA Vice President, Amir Shahsavari, moderated the presentation with a distinguished panel of guest speakers, including CEO Greg Vasil and Chairwoman Kate Franco of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board (GBREB), in addition to President Allison Drescher of SPOA and CEO Demetrios Salpoglou of Boston Pads. Also mentioned were various ideas for sensible and innovative housing solutions.
