SPOA Releases Episode 2 of Housing Policy Series with "Debunking Landlord Stereotypes"

The Small Property Owners Association (SPOA) released Episode 2 of its housing policy series, entitled "Debunking Landlord Stereotypes."

Topics included how rental housing providers can navigate long-standing negative stereotypes against them, as they continue the good, but challenging, work of housing their tenants safely and affordably. Property owners also strengthen their communities in Boston and throughout Massachusetts by supporting other businesses and funding municipal budgets through the taxes they pay. When confronted by dangerous policy proposals like rent control and tenant right of first refusal (also known as Tenant Opportunity to Purchase Act, TOPA), among others, how can owners continue their good work while devising constructive solutions to the housing dilemma, without compromising their property rights or harming any one group of people?

SPOA Vice President, Amir Shahsavari, moderated the presentation with a superb panel, including Roger Valdez (Director, Center for Economic Growth), Allison Drescher (President, SPOA), and Demetrios Salpoglou (CEO, Boston Pads), along with former Sen. Richard Tisei and Jim Eisenberg (Senior Advisors, Preti Strategies).
