Small landlords now eligible for more rental assistance

Are your tenants having trouble paying rent because of the COVID-19 pandemic?

Please register for an upcoming, free webinar (see link below) on a new federal program to help Massachusetts landlords with tenants who owe past-due rent, with higher benefits and eligibility.

Called the Emergency Rental Assistance Program (ERAP), the new program will pay landlords with nonpaying lower-income tenants up to 12 months of past-due rent plus up to six months of rent going forward.

Two existing programs – Rental Assistance to Families in Transition (RAFT) and Emergency Rental and Mortgage Assistance (ERMA) – are still operating, and one application gives you access to all three programs. If you own less than 20 units and your tenants are at or below 80% of area median income, you may qualify.

It is not perfect, but SPOA has been pushing for better and faster rental assistance in this very difficult time – and this is better.

We invite you to attend a free training webinar specifically for small landlords to learn how to navigate the ERAP application process.
